Laney was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She lived in Savannah, Georgia until her family moved to Chestnut Hill, Pa. She graduated from The Taft School in 1979. She studied foreign language at The University of Vermont and transferred to The University of Georgia.She married a man who hails from the Badger State where they raised their 4 children. She is a broker and has over 20 years of real estate experience and received several silver, gold and 100% awards. Laney is a member of Community Bible Church and in her spare time enjoys coaching lacrosse, playing tennis, golf, and water skiing.
